Northland logs 81 COVID-19 cases Saturday

Half of the entire Northland population has at least one vaccine dose.

Minnesota and Wisconsin health officials reported 81 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northland on Saturday.

For the second consecutive day, the 10-county region has not logged any new deaths from COVID-19.

New cases and seven-day averages in Northland counties:

  • Carlton — 12; 6.9.
  • Cook — 1; 0.1.
  • Itasca — 18; 29.4.
  • Koochiching — 0; 2.4.
  • Lake — 2; 0.9.
  • St. Louis — 32; 41.3.
  • Ashland — 1; 2.7.
  • Bayfield — 4; 1.9.
  • Douglas — 8; 7.4.

Another 380 people in the seven-county region of Northeastern Minnesota have received their first COVID-19 vaccine, as have another 180 people in Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas counties.


Nearly 50% of the Northland has had at least one dose of a vaccine. That percentage includes people age 15 and younger who are not yet eligible for the vaccine.
