Two more residents of St. Louis County have died of illness related to COVID-19 according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Both people were in their early 80s and brings the county death toll to 310.

The deaths were among eight reported statewide Sunday.

Health officials also reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 in Northeastern Minnesota. Statewide, Minnesota reported 287 new cases.

  • Cook — 1; 0.3.
  • Itasca — 3; 7.3.
  • Koochiching — 1; 5.4.
  • Lake — 0; 0.4.

Another 817 people in the seven-county region have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That brings the total to nearly 173,000 people with at least one dose.

Percentage of people with at least one vaccine dose in each county:

  • Aitkin — 49%.
  • Carlton — 57%.
  • Cook — 71%.
  • Itasca —45%.
  • Koochiching — 45%.
  • Lake — 55%.
  • St. Louis — 55%.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services had not updated its daily COVID-19 data as of 5 p.m. Sunday.
