Appointments for 500 COVID-19 vaccines are available to members of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and Carlton County residents, Carlton County Public Health and Human Services and Fond du Lac Public Health announced Monday.

The Moderna vaccine will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Black Bear Casino Resort's Event Center. To register, call 218-499-6310. The line is staffed 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Leave a voicemail if calling outside business hours. Pre-registration is necessary. The clinic is open to any eligible populations for their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Fond du Lac vaccine eligibility is anyone 18 years and older and who is:

  • Fond du Lac enrollee or a household member (non-Native Americans included).
  • First- or second-generation descendent of a Fond du Lac enrollee or a household member (non-Native Americans included).
  • Fond du Lac employee or a household member (non-Native Americans included).

Or, must be living in the Fond du Lac Band service area and:

  • An enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized tribe or a household member (non-Native Americans included).
  • First- or second-generation descendent of a U.S. federally recognized tribe or a household member (non-Native Americans included).
  • Canadian Indigenous person.

Carlton County residents age 18 and older will be eligible for this event, Carlton County Public Health announced. Higher-risk populations may be prioritized for appointments.
