Thirty-one more Northland residents have tested positive for COVID-19 Monday.

St. Louis County reported 20 new cases Monday and no deaths. St. Louis County’s new seven-day average is 14.6. Other new cases and seven-day averages in Northland counties:

  • Aitkin — 3; 3.

  • Carlton — 1; 3.1.

  • Cook — 0; 0.1.

  • Itasca — 2; 8.4.

  • Koochiching — 0; 0.3.

  • Lake — 2; 2.7.

  • Ashland — 0; 0.4.

  • Bayfield — 0; 0.1.

  • Douglas — 3; 1.9.

On Monday, Minnesota reported 561 new cases and Wisconsin reported 423. Minnesota reported one death and Wisconsin reported no deaths Monday. No deaths were reported in the Northland.

Minnesota reported Monday that nearly 64,000 residents in the seven counties of Northeastern Minnesota had received a COVID-19 vaccine dose. Nearly 30,000 of those people have completed the two-dose series.

Meanwhile, more than 10,580 residents in Wisconsin's Douglas, Ashland and Bayfield counties have also received at least one dose. About 3,360 of those people have had both dose.

The total percentage of the counties' population vaccinated:

  • Aitkin — 20.5%

  • Carlton — 21.6%

  • Cook — 40.9%

  • Itasca — 17.7%

  • Koochiching — 16.1%

  • Lake — 22.1%

  • St. Louis — 19.2%

  • Ashland — 21.4%

  • Bayfield — 20.9%

  • Douglas — 14.4%

The number of intensive care beds available in Northeastern Minnesota is 15.7%, according to state data that's updated once every weekday with figures from the previous day.

Available non-ICU beds in the region is 13.8%. As of Feb. 21, seven people were hospitalized in the region with COVID-19 with one of them being in an ICU unit.
