The Minnesota Department of Health reported three new COVID-19 cases in St. Louis County on Tuesday.

St. Louis County reported that a total of nine people are currently recovering at home and two people are hospitalized. Of the 159 total number of cases the county has recorded, 83 of them have reported known contact with a lab-confirmed case.

Seven of the 444 new cases statewide were recorded in Northeastern Minnesota.

Two new cases have been confirmed in Lake County. Itasca and Koochiching counties each reported one new case.

The number of patients in an intensive care unit has dropped for the fifth day in a row to 136. The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 outside of an intensive care unit has dropped by four to 134. Minnesota saw its highest number of hospitalizations in late May, when more than 600 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized in some setting.

Six more Minnesotans with COVID-19 have died. None of them were Northeastern Minnesota residents.

Of the 36,303 Minnesotans who have been confirmed positive, 1,441 have died and 31,601 no longer need to be isolated.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported one new case in Douglas County on Tuesday. Among the 606 new lab-confirmed cases, the Douglas County case was the only one recorded in northern Wisconsin.

Statewide, Wisconsin reported 606 new cases and seven more deaths, none of which were recorded in Ashland, Bayfield or Douglas counties.
