The Minnesota State High School League suspended all high school wrestling practices and competitions state wide on Tuesday for at least eight days due to an outbreak of Herpes Gladiatorum, a skin infection due to Herpes Simplex type-1 virus. As of this date, the state is aware of 24 clinically-confirmed cases of the Herpes virus, involving wrestlers in the weight classes of 285, 215 and 189 lbs. None have been reported in the Cloquet or Carlton County areas.
