Wrens romp to two wins

The Wrenshall Wrens showed why they are ranked No. 4 in the Class AA girls basketball polls this season - a pair of easy wins over AlBrook and Lakeview Christian Academy in the past week.

On Thursday, the Wrens buried AlBrook 82-24 in a game they led at halftime by a score of 39-14. Andrea Gould led the offensive charge with 23 points, Danielle Anderson poured in 18 points and Samantha Anderson scored 16 points for the Wrens.

The Wrens held the Falcons to just eight field goals for the entire game while hitting 32 shots from the field themselves.

Also scoring for Wrenshall were Emma Grover with 11 points, Wendy Bowman with six, Justine Dickenson added five, Erin Laveau scored two points and it was a point for Samantha Laveau.

Abby Otis led the Falcons with six points, Andrea Morris scored five points, it was four points for Ariel Morris and Sammy Mountain, both Emily Anvid and Katie Capriglione had two points, and Tayla Luczak scored a point.

Tuesday night the Wrens routed Lakeview Christian Academy 95-26 as six Wrens hit double figures in the scoring plateau.

Leading the Wrens in scoring was Gould with 21 points, followed by Danielle Anderson with 20 points, both Emma Grover and Wendy Bowman scored 14, and Samantha Anderson added 13 points. Justine Dickenson finished with seven points for Wrenshall, Erin Laveau added four points and Rayna Little chipped in with two points.

The Wrens led the game 56-4 at halftime.
