If the excitement of coach Dave Wilson wears off on his players, this could be the start of something fun at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.
Wilson, who played college football at the University of Central Florida, is the first head coach in men's basketball at the college.
"It is a great honor to be the first coach," said Wilson. "No matter what happens in the future there can never, ever be another first year team and I like the fact that I get to have a footprint on the program for years to come."
In high school, Wilson was a three-year letter winner in football and basketball and also a two-year letter winner in track.
"Sports have been part of my life since I was 5 years old," recalled Wilson. "I now have a 3-year-old son named Tyson and I hope someday to pass on to him the passion and love I have for sports."

The Thunder started practice on Oct. 1 and currently have 17 players on their roster. The roster is made up of local, regional and national talent.
"Brock Zins is a transfer from Rochestor, Minn., and we also have LaDarius Frazier from Kansas City, and they will both be strong players for us," mentioned Wilson. "Locally, both Dylan Eggen and Josh Earlywine played high school ball in Barnum."
A big key factor to the Thunder's early success could be Wilson's experience in the Minnesota Community Athletic Conference.
"I have coached in this league for four years and I know the team that gels the fastest wins the most games," commented Wilson. "Every year all the coaches hope that their guys truly become a team."
