Your forecast for today: An area of high pressure will be stubborn to move out of our area today. This will help to delay the onset of any showers or thunderstorms until late tonight. We may see a few more clouds pop up this afternoon, but temperatures will still soar to an afternoon high near 85 degrees once again.
Tonight: Our warm and sunny day will begin to transition into a mostly cloudy evening with a few showers and thunderstorms expected to roll through the region overnight. The clouds and humidity will keep us on the mild side with an overnight low near 62 degrees.
Independence Day: A low pressure system will approach the region Thursday morning and bring with it a chance for showers and thunderstorms. We will be watching this closely as it may impact 4th of July celebrations. Right now it looks like the bulk of the rain showers will occur during the morning hours and early afternoon and should taper off just in time for the firework shows. The clouds and showers will keep us slightly cooler with an afternoon high near 77 degrees.
Drier conditions with less humidity and temperatures cooling into the low to mid 70s can be expected for the rest of the holiday weekend.
