The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton alpine ski team has been busy with a number of downhill events this past week and a half. Last Thursday CEC participated in the Alpine Invitational at Mont du Lac with 10 other schools and Kendra Waller brought home another win.
Waller has been nothing short of spectacular this season with four wins in a row as she took the title in a time of 60.32, followed by Kaitlyn Ryan of Duluth East in 60.78 and Kate Maurer of Marshall with a time of 63.45.
While East won the 10-team event, CEC tied with Brainerd for second place. Strong finishes by Eliza Grames (18th), Nicole Zauher (22nd) and Katrina Anderson (31st), helped CEC to the solid finish.
East also won the boys race with Tim Kohlhass nabbing the title, but CEC had another strong finish by taking fifth overall.
Nick Grames took 22nd to lead CEC, with John Green taking 26th, Jeff Skansgaard was 31st and Jeff Lindemood nabbed 35th.
