Despite a lack of snow, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton alpine skiers are finding a way to hit the slopes for training and meets. Kendra Waller took another impressive first-place finish on Thursday at Giant's Ridge by defeating skiers from 10 schools.
Duluth East won the team competition, Cook County took second and Virginia was third. CEC ended up sixth in the 10-team event.
CEC also got a 21st-place finish from Eliza Grames and 30th from Katrina Anderson.
- The boys team event was won by Hibbing with Virginia second and East third. CEC finished fifth in the field.
John Green led CEC with a 12th-place finish, Nick Grames took 15th and Derek Smith was 30th.
