Zachary Vopat has been selected for membership in Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) All State Men's Choir for the 2007-2008 year.
His director at Cloquet High School is Elizabeth Wilson.
Vopat was one of 573 students selected from over 2,100 who auditioned this spring for a position in one of the seven MMEA All-State performing groups. The students will attend summer camps which will be held at Saint Olaf College (orchestra), St. Cloud State University (bands and jazz ensemble), and Winona State University (choirs).
The students participating will have the opportunity to work with some of the finest conductors and music educators in the country as well as meeting other outstanding music students from all across the state of Minnesota.
All camps are held Aug. 6-11, with a 1:30 p.m. concert for All-State Bands, Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra, and a 10:30 a.m. concert for the All-State Choirs. In addition, the students will gather next February in Minneapolis for rehearsals and performances at Orchestra Hall and the Minneapolis Convention Center.
