Hebert-Kennedy 3979 VFW Auxiliary issued awards to 40 of the top winners in four schools from Cloquet in the VFW's annual Americanism contest.
Cash awards, certificates and desk flags were presented by Velda Beck, chairman, and Post Commander Don Douglas. All first-place winners had their entries sent to the District level for competition.
Category I and II were poster and collage posters titled "Draw an American Flag" and "Show Your Favorite Things About America." Category II was an essay of 250 words or less on the them, "What Freedom Means to Me."
