Needle felting for beginners
Enjoy Needle Felting with the Duluth Art Institute at 4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Cloquet Public Library. The program is free of charge and open to the public.
It's like painting with a brush...but with a needle and sheep's wool. Transform fluffy wool into a tough felt canvas on which to create your colorful work of art. "Poke" the wool with a special needle to connect the pieces together. It's a unique art form that will be sure to start a love of fiber art.
For ages 7 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is a must for the class will have a 20-person limit. Adults without children are welcome too! Art is for everyone! Call 879-1531.

The Arrowhead Library System announces a fun show for all ages at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb 23, at the Cloquet Public Library. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
Come see James Wedgwood and his amazing comic ventriloquism. Like a one-man variety show, James makes virtually everything talk, from wooden "associates", to purses, bottles and even audience members - yes, they open their mouths and James provides the surprising words! A game show, singing (without moving his lips) and much more are all part of the fun.
With outrageous characters and hilarious audience participation, this is a performance unlike any other and one you will not want to miss! The show is appropriate for all ages so feel free to bring the whole family.

Read Across America
The nationwide reading celebration "Read Across America" will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, at the Cloquet Public Library. Children of all ages can join the fun by reading from a favorite book or from one of ours. Everyone who reads aloud will receive a free book.
The National Education Association's "Read Across America" event is now in its 15th year, motivating children to read and helping them to master basic skills. Join the thousands of schools, libraries and community centers across the country participating in the worthwhile event, bringing together kids and books and you.
The event is in honor of the hugely popular children's author Dr. Seuss whose birthday is on March 2. Like all of our programs at the library, "Read Across America" is free of charge and open to the public. Treats will be served.
