The Aldi store site was inspected Tuesday, Aug. 28, Members Cooperative Credit Union is moving dirt on its site and concrete is being poured at the new skatepark.

Cloquet is a bustling place.

Despite rumours to the contrary, all of the projects are moving forward at a steady pace.

According to Dean Silampa, project superintendent of operations at BOLDT, there was a flurry of activity at the skatepark this week as concrete was poured one section at a time over several days.

Subcontractors from California Skateparks were busy installing "shotcrete" on the bowls. Others carried materials and continued building the framework of the skatepark as the summer slowly draws to a close.

The final steps to the project are landscaping and a new fence. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, depending on the weather.

The MCCU project began in June across Minnesota Highway 33 from Walmart and is moving along as expected.

"It's been a very smooth project," Kirk Ilenda, business development manager for BOLDT, said.

The estimated finish date is early spring.
