It was a rude awakening for the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College women's basketball team on Friday night. The Thunder lost the first game in women's basketball history 92-24 to Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Then they lost Monday night in the first home game in school history 68-49 to the University of Wisconsin Superior.
"Justine Dickenson was our leading scorer with 10 points against Anoka-Ramsey," recalled Jen McKay, coach of the Thunder. "Ashley Langila had 11 rebounds and we played only five players, but I was pleased with the effort and that the girls didn't quit."
Monday night playing in the new Jack Briggs Cultural Center gymnasium, the Thunder gave a strong effort only to fall short against the Division III Yellowjackets.
"We had a big game from Langila as she finished with 17 points and had 11 rebounds," mentioned McKay. "Alicia Legarde had 13 points and Jessica Cameron added eight points."
The Thunder trailed 45-29 at halftime and managed to keep the contest close most of the game.

"We need to improve our perimeter shooting and be more consistent with rebounding," McKay remarked. "I like that our five healthy players are not looking for excuses in the two early losses, but they realize a tough early schedule is preparing them for conference games in January and February."
