The Carlton County Soil and Water Conservation District is now accepting orders for its 2009 annual tree and shrub sale.

Plants offered are 25 plants per bundle for $35. They are locally grown, conservation-grade and bare-root stock. Complete details and descriptions of everything offered can be found on the order forms, which can be printed from the Web site www.carltonswcd.org; picked up at the Carlton SWCD office, 115 S. Fifth St., Carlton; or mailed to you by calling 218-384-3891.

Select from a variety of shrubs, broadleaved trees, evergreens and vines. There are also four different variety bundles, which include 25 plants, five of each species.

Don't forget tree mats, net tubing, repellent, netting and SWCD publications.

If you need help planting your trees, contact Kelly Smith, SWCD technician, to assist you with planning where, when and how best to plant your trees. He can even plant your trees for you! Protect your investment by purchasing a plan and implementing it. If interested, contact Smith at 218-384-3891 before Feb. 28, 2009.

All orders of $50 or more received before Dec. 31 will receive a 10 percent discount.

Orders will be accepted through March 31, 2009. Plant pickup is scheduled for early May 2009. Customers will be notified by postcard of the exact pick up dates and location.
