Artwork by Cloquet High School students Marissa Munley and Rachel Hammond was selected to be exhibited at the statewide Youth Art Month exhibit in Hopkins, Minn., this past month. A juror from Minneapolis College of Art and Design selected the two pieces from a very competitive group of entries. Every piece submitted had a great deal of artistic merit.
“Only two pieces could be selected for the exhibit, so those selected are exceptionally strong,” said CHS art teacher Julie Deters.
“Plant Room” by Marissa Munley and “Shadows, Shades, and Sunlight” by Rachel Hammond were chosen.
The pieces are featured in the Youth Art Month Student Exhibition 2017, which has a closing reception and awards ceremony Saturday, March 25.
