State Patrol to focus on equipment violations

Minnesota State Troopers in northeastern Minnesota will be devoting much of their enforcement time to drivers who fail to maintain or neglect their vehicles. January will be designated as equipment enforcement month for the Minnesota State Patrol.

Some of the equipment violations that will draw the attention of state troopers are drivers who have not taken the time to clear their windows of frost or snow, window tint violations, suspended objects which create visual obstructions for the driver, lights that are out or not functioning properly, along with drivers failing to use turn signals.

With the January weather we typically receive in northern Minnesota and the shortened hours of daylight, take the time to clear your windows, check that your lights are working properly, and maintain the safety equipment on your vehicles so that you can see and be seen.
