Travel back in time to a place where fur trade history comes to life at the St. Louis River Historical Encampment, coming to Cloquet July 4-5.

The event will feature dozens of historically accurate encampments, colorful clothing, lively characters, muskets and cannons, live music and dancing, activities and games for the whole family. Trade with merchants, visit with fur traders and explorers. Watch artisans like blacksmiths, wood carvers and weavers at work. Picnic on the grass along the river.

The St. Louis River Historical Encampment, located at Voyageur Park on Dunlap Island on the St. Louis River in Cloquet, will run from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5.

Admission is $2 per day for adults, $1 per day for seniors and children age 6-12, and free for children under 6.
