Spirits Restaurant and Bar, 1704 Highway 210 west of Carlton, is getting in the "spirit" of the season. The popular local restaurant is launching a food drive during the month of November, slated to run up until Thanksgiving.
Stop by for a meal, or simply a cup of coffee or dessert, and bring one or more non-perishable food items, and you'll get free "Spirit Dollars" in return.
The dollars can be used immediately, or save them up until you have enough for an entire meal.
All items will be donated to the local food shelf to help deserving families make it through the difficult months of winter.
The response to the food drive has already been impressive, with customers, as well as food service vendors and account representatives from the adjacent Travel Center, making significant donations.
