The city of Cloquet reopened some of its park facilities on Wednesday, April 22.

Based on revisions to Gov. Tim Walz’s emergency executive order, some city outdoor athletic courts and facilities will be open for use, according to a news release.

Residents are asked to follow all outdoor recreation guidelines and practice social distancing. City staff cannot be responsible for enforcement of these guidelines, and patrons must play a role in protecting themselves and their fellow community members, the news release said.

Facilities will be open for small groups and recreational use only. Organized events and league play continue to be prohibited by the state.

Due to state guidelines regarding regular disinfection and social distancing, the following park facilities and services remain closed until further notice:

  • Spafford Park Campground

  • Cloquet Skatepark

  • All city-owned playgrounds

  • All indoor facilities

  • Park reservations for gatherings of 10 or more people
