'Senior Moments' plans bus tour to Ely

Senior Moments, an area wide program for older adults sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Wrenshall, is planning a bus tour to the Blueberry Festival in Ely on Saturday, July 28, with Traveler's Choice/LCS Coaches. Reservations and payment are due July 14. Cost is $39 per person.

The day will begin at 7:15 a.m. when the bus will leave the parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church of Wrenshall. There will be a mid-morning stop in Virginia for a coffee break (on your own). Enjoy a mid-day lunch on your own at the Blueberry Festival. An afternoon option is the new North American Bear Center in Ely (admission is $7 per person). The bus will arrive back in Wrenshall at 9 p.m.

Reserve your place on the tour bus by calling 384-9415 and indicating your name and the number attending. Space is limited to 47 persons.

This tour is sponsored by Senior Moments, a time for older adult reflection, learning and fellowship.

Another July offering by Senior Moments is a workshop on health directives, "Planning for the End of Life: Spiritual, Ethical and Practical Considerations." It will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at the First Presbyterian Church, 119 Broadway in Wrenshall. The workshop will be led by Barb Little, parish nurse at Cloquet Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. John Gibbs, chaplain at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
