There have been some spectacular fall colors around Carlton County this year. Throngs of visitors enjoyed Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton on the weekends.
There are many events offered at Jay Cooke. Visitors enjoyed learning about birds and rocks found in the park during weekends in September. They also learned how agates were formed and why they have different colored layers.
According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website, most of Minnesota foliage is 50%-100% peak right now. A small section in the northern part of the state is past peak.
Bundle up for Wednesday Wellness Wanderings from 5-6 p.m. through the end of October at Jay Cooke. A park sticker is required.
