Roy Albin Asproth, 86, of Cloquet passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2007. After graduating from Barnum High School in 1939, Roy enlisted in the United States Army where he served for six years before entering Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He and his brother Ed then started their own refrigeration business located in Scanlon, providing refrigeration services throughout northeastern Minnesota. Roy was an avid fisherman and hunter as well as an active golfer and bowler. Most recently, he loved his time at the Cloquet Senior Center playing cards, pool, and socializing with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Carl and his parents, John and Selma of Mahtowa.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Bob (Dianne) and Karen Gross (Bruce); brothers, Ed and Herman; sister, Pearl; grandchildren, Mike and Robin Bradley, Chad and Holly Gross, Lars and Chanda Olson, Brent and Anne Asproth, Brian Asproth; and several great-grandchildren.

Roy will be remembered and his life celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 1-3:30 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Marli Danielson, at the Cloquet Senior Center (behind Pine Tree Plaza Shopping Center and adjacent to Pine Valley Ice Shelter).

Memorials are preferred to the Cloquet Senior Center.
