Richard Robert Jubie, 80, of Esko passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. He was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Cloquet to Arthur and Cora (Johnson) Jubie. Richard worked at the former Wood Conversion-Conwed Corporation for 36 years and was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed all sports: bowling, golf, hunting and fishing, and was able to take many trips to fulfill his dreams. Richard's greatest passion was brook trout fishing on the local streams, which he learned from his father as a young boy.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Jim; and sister, JoAnn.
He is survived by the family he so adored, his wife, Kathryn (Grubenla); daughter, Theresa Champeaux; son Art (Regina); and grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Alex, Amber and R.J. "Farewell, We Love You."
Richard was blessed to have enjoyed a family gathering Tuesday, Aug. 14, with his surviving siblings: brother, Orville (Eloyce) Jubie; sisters, Idella Johnson, Patricia (Marvin) Stenroos and Dorothy Vafias; sister-in-law, Lois Jubie; and other family members.
At Richard's request, no visitation or services were held. The family asks that everyone reminisce about Richard as you knew him in life. Inurnment was at Queen of Peace Calvary Cemetery.
