'Rally for a Cure' event raises $3,700

Pine Hill Golf Club recently hosted "Rally for a Cure" June 23 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This year marks the second time that Pine Hill has pledged its support to tee off against breast cancer.

Pine Hill Golf Club recently hosted "Rally for a Cure" June 23 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This year marks the second time that Pine Hill has pledged its support to tee off against breast cancer.

Numerous hole sponsors, golfers and committee members, including Nan Clemens, Gail Salo, Susie Anton and Nancy Hendrickson, made this event a huge success, raising $3,700 for "Rally for a Cure."

The first-place team winners in the four-person scramble were Jim Salo, Gail Salo, Kelly Johnson and Gary Maki, scoring a 27, 4-under par.

The second-place team winners were Tom VanGuilder, Mike Rabideaux, Larry Labeck and Sheila Hopp, scoring a 28, 3-under par.

Longest Drive - Nan Clemens and Andy Wise.

Longest Putt - Kelly Johnson and Jim Putnam.

Closest to the Pin - Molly Simon and Gary Maki.

Shooting for the birdie on Hole #7 were "3 Wheales & A Spare," including Mark Wheale, Pat Wheale, Roxanne Wheale and Jim Barry.

And finally, John Wodney and Karen Kemi were awarded prizing for wearing the most pink.
