The Quad Rivers Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association recently donated $500 to help support our troops through donations to area support our troop organizations. The Carlton-Pine County Family Military Support Group and the Gold/Blue Star Mothers of America, Minn., Chapter 3 each received $250 from the Quad Rivers Chapter.
The Carlton-Pine County Family Military Support Group and the Gold/Blue Star Mothers of America are non-profit organizations that are sending care packages to our troops and provide support for our military troop and their families and friends.
All members of these two groups are volunteers. Both groups have been sending care packages to our troops monthly. Some of the items sent are foot powder, wet wipe towels, ChapStick, disposable cameras, drink mixes, candy (no chocolate because it melts) and beef jerky. All money raised and donated is used to buy, package and send items to area military personnel who are away from home.
