Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank provides free food to women who are pregnant or postpartum up to one year, and their children younger than 6 (not already served by WIC). Mothers and children must be income-eligible Minnesota residents and can be screened for eligibility by calling (218) 727-5653 extension 12, or (888) 727-5653.
The Mothers and Children (MAC) program provides monthly boxes of nutritional food to low income residents. Boxes contain meat and dairy items, pasta, rice, cereal, and fruit and vegetables. The food is distributed to 22 sites throughout the region, including Duluth, Grand Marais, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Virginia, Hibbing, Wright, Cloquet and Moose Lake.
