The Cloquet Police Department is looking for more information about a Carlton County man accused of severe criminal sexual conduct involving multiple children over the years.

Jamey Michael Coleman, 39, faces charges for three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, and two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree, all with victims under the age of 13. Cloquet police identify Coleman as a Cloquet resident in their press release, but his address is listed as Mahtowa on court documents.

According to the criminal complaint, a juvenile female told an interviewer at First Witness Child Resource Center in Duluth that Coleman was babysitting her and a friend when he allegedly put his hands in her pants and touched her genital area over her underwear. At that point, investigators from the Carlton County Sheriff's Office and Carlton County Public Health and Human Services began investigating Coleman.

Although the criminal complaint is redacted and does not show names or ages of the juvenile victims, it appears that five girls - two from Tamarack and three from Cloquet - all told police and staff at First Witness of alleged incidents where Coleman touched their "girl parts" with his hand as well as sexual contact or penetration in some instances.

"We have sent out requests to other law enforcement agencies in Minnesota and Wisconsin, looking for any other incidents related to this type of behavior involving Coleman," Commander Derek Randall said in a police department press release. "We know Mr. Coleman previously resided in the Twin Cities and we believe he knew his victims. We want to share our investigation with people who know Coleman in case they have any pertinent information that has not yet been reported to law enforcement."

Coleman was arrested in October and remains in the Carlton County jail. Bail was set at $250,000 and he was granted a public defender. A contested omnibus hearing is set for Jan. 26 at Sixth District Carlton County Court.

The Cloquet Police Department is requesting anyone with information related to Jamey Coleman to contact the police department at 218-879-1247.
