Abbi Parenteau

Cloquet Senior High School Business Department has selected Abbi Parenteau as "Business Student of the Month" for March. Students who apply for this award are chosen based on their activities, work experience, business courses, grades earned, a letter of recommendation, and an essay written by the student.

Parenteau, a senior at CHS, has been a very involved student, both in academics and extra-curricular activities. She participates in National Honor Society, band, Mock Trial, Knowledge Bowl, Link Crew, Junior Rotarians, theater, Carlton County Historical Society, yearbook, and dance line. She is also the school newspaper editor, senior class president and was the homecoming queen this year. She is currently taking two classes at the Duluth Playhouse to broaden her theater experience. Parenteau also works at McDonald's in Cloquet. Her theater director, Kevin R. Hamre, stated, "Abbi is a highly intelligent, friendly, and personable young woman who is extremely gifted in many different fields."

Parenteau will attend either SUNY at Purchase, Hofstra University, or the University of Minnesota-Duluth this fall. She is the daughter of Dan and Theresa Parenteau of Cloquet.

A senior student chosen as "Business Student of the Month" will also be eligible for the Stowell Family Scholarship to be awarded in May.
