David Palmi and Bob Brungardt, two senior football players from Esko High School, have signed letters of intent to play football next fall at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids.

Palmi, a two-year letter winner, is a 5'8" speedster who will fit into the Vikings plans as tailback and slot receiver. Brungardt is 6'5" and 220 pounds, and played defensive end. He was named All Conference in 2005 and 2006 and All Area in 2006. He was also a team captain, and recorded 14 quarterback sacks and caused six fumbles his senior year.

"We are very happy to have these two local student athletes choose our college and football program," said Steve King, head football coach of the Itasca Vikings. "They are great examples of what we look for in recruiting.

"They're academically sound, they have a passion for football, they come from a great program with good coaching, and they understand what it is going to take to win. We are anticipating that both will come in next fall and have an impact on our program."

The Vikings now have 20 student athletes from the region signed to letters of intent.
