Ogichida starting to come alive during recent games

The Ogichida of Fond du Lac are starting to show some signs of a team to be reckoned with over the second half of the boys basketball schedule. FDL fell to both La Courte Oreilles and to Hill City, but in both instances the games were tight affairs.

On Thursday the Ogichida trailed Lac Courte Oreilles by 25-24 at the half before falling 49-45 at the end of the game. Will YellowRobe and Mike Roberts led FDL with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Also scoring for FDL were Kris Stiffarm with six, Jay Houle had five, Peter Martin and Lee St. John each finished with three and Scott Abramowski had a pair of points.

Devon Drobot led LCO with 26 points.

  • On Friday night Hill City took a 50-37 win over FDL in a game the Hornets led just 26-21 at the break. Charlie Nahgahnub led the Ogichida with 15 points, Stiffarm scored eight, Houle added seven, Roberts scored four and St. John finished with three points.

Duane Suoja and Tyler James led Hill City with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

  • On Monday night FDL hit the century mark in scoring as they defeated Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig 103-63 behind a 35-point effort from Will YellowRobe.

Both Mike Roberts and Kris Stiffarm hit for 22 points, Jay Houle recorded 11, Louis Garcia pumped in nine points and both Trevor Brown and Peter Martin finished with a pair of points.
Despite his 35 points, YellowRobe was not even the leading scorer in the game as Jim Howard scored 47 points, including eight 3-pointers, but it wasn't nearly enough for Bug School to come up with the win against the Ogichida.

  • On Tuesday night, Fond du Lac fell to a very tough Oh-Day-Aki of Minneapolis team 56-44.
