The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton ski team competed in the Mesabi East Invite Saturday, Jan. 6, in Hoyt Lakes.
The Invite featured a whopping 73 teams and an astounding total of 1,149 racers. The meet featured several Twin Cities teams - and CEC fared well, placing 16th place overall out of 57 teams for the boys and 26th place overall out of 56 teams for the girls.
In the boys varsity classic, Raleigh Goessling finished ninth and Neil Smith finished 67th out of 178 racers.
In the girls varsity class, Becky Cook finished 39th and Kamilla Sorenson finished 101st out of 166 racers.
In the boys varsity freestyle, Paul Quiram finished 27th, Matt Palmquist finished 82nd and Taylor Nordvall finished 147th out of 187 racers.

In the girls varsity freestyle, Neysa Granholm took 68th, Megan Matson took 84th, Mollie Juntunen took 115th and Amanda Norbie was 120th out of 176 racers.
