Nominations from county residents are now being sought for the 2009 Outstanding Senior Volunteer Award for Carlton County.
The award is annually given to a male and female outstanding volunteer over the age of 70 who lives in Carlton County.
Selections are based on volunteer activities after the age of 65 and the selection criteria may include the total scope of activities, diversity of accomplishments, variety of services provided, quantity of accomplishments and geographic area covered. The two award winners will be honored at the Carlton County Fair on Friday, Aug. 14.
Official nomination forms are available by calling Volunteer Services at 218-879-9238 or 1-888-419-1235 or stopping at the office, 1219 14th St., Ste. D, Cloquet. Completed nomination forms are due in the office by 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7.
