The Nifty 50s Car Club is gathering for a classic car show at Eskomo Pizza Pies in downtown Esko this Thursday, July 12, from 5-9 p.m. Organizers expect between 40 to 50 classic cars, all preening for attention from the public and from each other. The classic car club gathers frequently at area locations to show off the hard work each owner puts into their carefully restored and polished classic cars.

The Eskomo Pies car show is a particularly appropriate setting, as the restaurant was remodeled to capture the original look of the building, which was built in the late 1940s as the Cloquet Co-op Store. There's a picture of the original building, taken when the Co-op first opened in Esko, with several cars parked in front. Eskomo Pies owner Pete Radosevich plans to take another picture with all the Nifty 50s cars in front to compare to the original picture.

The public is always welcome to come view the classic cars, as the owners love showing off their classic cars to appreciative audiences. However, to capture the mood, only classic cars will be allowed in the Eskomo Pizza Pies parking lot - spectators will have to park across the street at the Esko High School, or on the street.

Contact Eskomo Pizza Pies for more information or reservations at 879-6633.
