New Wine, a youth drama and musical troupe, will present "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," a light-hearted musical play based on the Genesis story of Joseph and his coat of many colors.
New Wine Coffee House performances of "Joseph" will be presented at 7 p.m. April 26, 27, 28 and 29 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1000 Washington Avenue in Cloquet.
"Joseph" was written by lyricist Tim Rice and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who also collaborated to create the rock opera, "Jesus Christ Superstar."
New Wine is a Christian youth ministry that is currently in its 18th year. This year's group consists of 48 high school students who attend Cloquet, Esko, Barnum, Proctor and Wrenshall high schools, as well as the Cloquet Christian Academy.
Although the group is based at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet, it is open to Christian teens regardless of denomination and currently has members from 12 different area churches. Each year, they prepare a musical production with a biblical or spiritual theme which they perform both locally and on tour.

They will be touring to the Pacific Northwest in June. The group is supported financially by ticket sales, free-will offerings and donations from individuals and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Each student also pays a fee to cover a portion of the tour expenses.
The group is directed by Roni Young and Cheryl Vopat and has been rehearsing weekly since January.
The ticket price includes the performance as well as coffee and "Technicolor Dreamcakes" during intermission. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased in advance from any cast member or by calling the Zion office at 879-4647.
