Today's strong winds and storms are still affecting thousands of Lake Country Power members. Nearly 7,000 Lake Country Power members are currently without power in widespread areas around Walker, Grand Rapids, Cass Lake, McGregor, Kettle River and Hibbing. Strong wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour are blowing trees into power lines.
The storm is currently moving east through Lake Country Power's service territory. As a result, the electric cooperative anticipates the possibility of additional outages.
Lake Country Power line crews will continue to work today, this evening and through the night to restore power. Additional crews from Lake States Tree Service and Lake States Construction are helping with outage restoration and clean-up.
Lake Country Power appreciates member's patience with the storm related power outages. The cooperative can be reached at 800-421-9959.
