Clouds kept Duluth above freezing overnight, but frost hit much of the region.
A band of clouds came off of Lake Superior overnight, keeping Duluth warmer than much of the region.
"Here at the office we got to 32 (degrees)," National Weather Service meteroligist Kevin Donofrio said. "The airport, which is only a mile away, only got to 36."
While official temperatures in Duluth stayed above freezing, one didn't have to go far to find freezing temperatures. Superior reported 28 degrees, as did Cloquet.
Hayward, Wis., reported 22 degrees, the region's low.
