BREEZY POINT, Minn. — A 49-year-old Merrifield, Minn., man died Sunday, June 19, on Pelican Lake.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report at 2:59 p.m. of a man pulled from the water while swimming from a pontoon on the south part of Pelican Lake near a public access.
According to the report, the man was not breathing and CPR was being performed on the pontoon.
Deputies along with a Breezy Point Police officer, first responders and North Memorial Health Ambulance met a pontoon at the access with the victim on board and continued life-saving measures.
The man was identified as Loren Michael Hinch.

The incident is currently under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
