Police and school staff searched Cloquet Middle School this evening after the school received a threat that a bomb would be in the school on Thursday.
The school and Cloquet Police Department issued a statement advising the community that they are working together to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Officers and staff planned to thoroughly search the school this evening. After the search, heightened security will be put in place as students arrive for classes in the morning, school officials said.
Parents or guardians who want to keep their children home in light of the bomb threat may do so.
Also, the adult morning lap swim at the middle school will be canceled this Thursday.
