Melvin Lind, 90, of Wright passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Mercy Health Care Center in Moose Lake. He was born April 29, 1916, in New Ulm, Minn., to Reinhold and Amanda Lind and moved to Wright in 1924. Melvin was baptized in New Ulm and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. He worked on farms in Waterville and Morristown and then moved back to Wright and farmed the home place and also worked at the Wright Creamery making cheese for 16 years. Melvin served many years on the Beseman Township Board and the Wright School Board and enjoyed farming, gardening, wood cutting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and two sisters.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor; three sons, Kenneth (Geri), James (Jean) and Wayne (Carri), all of Wright; daughter, Lois Sorenson of Cromwell; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wright. Burial will be in Wright Public Cemetery.
