Mary A. Strand, 77, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Cloquet, Minn. She was born in Connecticut on Sept. 23, 1931. Mary had "contagious joy" and an abounding love for all. She will be dearly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary will be deeply missed by her husband, Nels; daughter, Marcy Garms; sons, Ronald Hawkes and Richard (Devon) Hawkes; three grandchildren, Steven, Heather and Amber; great-grandchild, Madyson; brother, Donald (Joan) Allen; sister in Christ, Beth (George) Roder; and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 3, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, Minn.
