Voters on the Fond du Lac Reservation elected a challenger to the post of secretary-treasurer last Tuesday.

Ferdinand W. Martineau Jr. received 493 votes, while incumbent Kevin R. Dupuis Sr. received 418.

The two had advanced from a five-way primary race for the four-year position.

Meanwhile, seven candidates are running in a special election for the Fond du Lac Reservation Business Committee District II seat.

Incumbent Vincent Roy Martineau Jr., Daryold Blacketter, John Martin Jr., Wayne Dupuis, Michael Murray Jr., Ricky W. Defoe, and William Joseph Wise Sr. will face off in a primary July 11.

The two candidates receiving the most votes will advance to the Sept. 19 general election.
