Mark Leyden Johnson, 49, of Cloquet passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006. He was born May 11, 1957, in Cloquet to Harlan and Eleanor (Charon) Johnson. Mark graduated from Cloquet High School in 1975 and attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 1976-1980. He enjoyed trout fishing and duck hunting at his dad's "pothole" and was a former member of Ducks Unlimited. Mark had a number of different jobs over the years, most recently at the Lemon Tree. will be remembered by friends and relatives for his humor, sharp wit and knowledge of politics, sports, and current events. Mark was a lifelong Minnesota Twins fan and an avid reader.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Harlan, in March of 2006.

He is survived by his mother, Eleanor; sisters, Lynn (Bruce) Parnin and Kim (Pat) Marciniak of Cloquet; brothers Keith Johnson of Cloquet and Glenn Johnson of Chesapeake, Va. He leaves his four beloved nephews, Brice and Blake Parnin and Max and Sam Marciniak, all of Cloquet (they adored him and thought of him as their buddy and their "cool" uncle!). Mark also leaves behind many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, officiated by Rev. Father Joseph Sirba. Music was provided by Tom Cawcutt. A luncheon reception followed in the fellowship room. Private family inurnment services was at New Calvary Cemetery.
