Marie Alice Ingersoll, 90, of Carlton, formerly of Cloquet, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. She was born in 1916, the daughter of Richard and Mary Shunn. Marie was a 1934 graduate of Superior Cathedral High School and then moved with her family to Cloquet. Marie worked as a waitress in Reno, Nev., and at the former Redfield's Café in the west end of Cloquet and was a long-time employee of Diamond Match in Cloquet. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and enjoyed walking, the family pets, riding in her son, Jim's, '66 Mustang and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Olive Vargason, and two brothers, Jim Shunn and Earl "Bud" Shunn.
Marie was deeply loved and will be missed by her son, Jim (Linda) Boyd of Cloquet; her grandchildren, Shawn Boyd, Tami (Matt) Affias and Ebony Boyd, all of Cloquet; her great-grandchildren, Perry James Edwin "PJ," Ellise and Kaia Affias and Nikita Boyd; her brother, Frank (Patsy) Shunn of Cloquet; and two sisters, Peggy (Leo) Lammi of Cloquet and Kathy Disselbret of Duluth.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the excellent staff of Inter-Faith Care Center (Carlton Nursing Home) for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Marie during her 12-year stay. God bless you!
Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service in Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet, followed by lunch in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.
