Margaret L. (Olson) Gauthier, 82, of Carlton, formerly of Zenith Terrace, Duluth, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, in her home. She was born in Duluth on Aug. 2, 1924, to Carl and Bertha (Giese) Olson. Margaret was a 1942 Denfeld High School graduate. She married Russell D. Gauthier in Duluth on June 26, 1943, and together they raised three daughters. Margaret was employed with Denfeld Super Value as a produce clerk for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Esko and a former member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Duluth. She was a also a member of the Evergreen Senior Citizens Club, the Retailers Union #1116, and the Golden Arrow Travel Club.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Russell, who died Feb. 20, 1990.
She is survived by her three daughters, Janet Gulbranson of Sun Prairie, Wis., Barbara (David) Oja of Wayzata, Minn., and Debra (Jorma) Rahkola of Barnum; six grandchildren, Lisa (Kevin) Webb, Nichole (Jason) Rahn, Angela Oja, Jeremy Rahkola, Jeffrey Rahkola, and Jonathan Rahkola; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernice Jedlicka of Hermantown and Dorothy (Richard) Thoreson of Duluth.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 17, from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko. Burial was in Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown.
