Marcella "Mickie" W. Ritchie, 88, of Esko died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. Mickie was born in 1919 in St. Paul to Elaine and William McCabe. She grew up in Poplar, Wis., and moved to Duluth where she met and married William H. Ritchie. She was active in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and many school and church activities. She was on the D.W.B.A. board and Proctor bowling team for many years. She sang in the Norton Park Church choir and the Friendship Singers.
Mickie was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1982, and two sons, Douglas in 1971 and Daniel in 1992.
Mickie is survived by her four grandchildren, Jeffery (Teresa) and Douglas, both of Cloquet, Robbie (Kris) of Shoreview and Nicole of Duluth; daughters-in-law, Bonnie Ritchie of Duluth and Lynn Christman of Saginaw; four great-grandchildren, Danny, Carly, Ashley and Ryan; her devoted sister, June of Duluth; and many good and loving friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service in Norton Park Methodist Church, 436 North 79th Avenue West, Duluth, with The Rev. Greg Ciesluk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
