Luella Ida Augusta Unulock, 84, of Saginaw passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth. She was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Hinckley, Minn., to Emil and Wilhelmina (Petersen) Zaudtke. She graduated from Hinckley High School and was united in marriage to George Unulock. Luella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw where she was very active with the church groups. She was also involved with her children and their school functions.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Unulock; five brothers, Albert, Herman, Edward, Earl and Irvin Zaudtke; and one sister, Bernice Rahja.
She is survived by three children, Cynthia (Tom) Peterson of Duluth, Michael (Julie) Unulock of Superior and Carrie (Tim) Cosgrove of Superior; two brothers, Arnold (Sylvia) Zaudtke of Duluth and Eugene Zaudtke of Harris, Minn.; six grandchildren, Kristofer (Jodi) Peterson, Kara (Joe) Milleker, Kevin (Mellissa) Peterson, Stephanie (John Freedline) Blohm, Jeremy (Abbey) Fremling and Dustin Cosgrove; and 13 great-grandchildren, Jordan Reeder, Karly Peterson, Aaron Peterson, Alexandra Peterson-Hanson, Carter Milleker, Madison Milleker, Curtis Peterson, John Freedline Jr., Tyler Blohm, Noah Blohm, Isabella Blohm, Ethan Blohm and Katerina Freedline.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The visitation resumed Monday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service at St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw, conducted by Pastor Christine Antilla. Music was provided by Liz Sinisalo as organist. Pallbearers were Daniel Unulock, Donald Unulock, Richard Willeck, Bruce Willeck, Gary Zaudtke, and Wayne Zaudtke. Interment services was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet, followed by a luncheon reception in the church social hall.
