CLOQUET — Despite being a cool and damp night with foggy and overcast skies, thousands turned out at Veterans Memorial Park in Cloquet for the showing of an outdoor movie followed by the Fourth of July fireworks display.

The event occurred on Tuesday, July 5 — a day later than scheduled due to inclement weather on the Fourth of July.

The dank weather and low clouds obscuring portions of Tuesday's fireworks display did little to extinguish the spirit of the crowd. Audible oohs and ahhs along with people honking car horns could be heard after some of the larger shells were ignited. At the conclusion of the 20-plus minute display, the audience responded with loud cheering and applause.
